It was officially announced yesterday that The Motion Sick will be competing in the 31st annual WBCN Rock ‘N’ Roll Rumble, the longest running battle of the bands in the entire country. The brief version is, lots of amazing bands have been in it (and are in it this year). Most of my favorite bands lost the first round! Some of my personal favorite past participants: Mission of Burma, The Lemonheads, Morphine, Letters to Cleo, ‘Til Tuesday, Dresden Dolls, The Sheila Divine, and Freezepop. We’re already hiring people to “take care” of all of the other bands so that we’re the only ones that even show up to the competition. Since we win in this scenario by default, we will take the opportunity to try out some of our new avant-garde a capella instrumentals. If this sounds exciting, pay attention to WBCN’s Boston Emissions, because next week, they’ll be announcing the show lineups and dates.
