Boston Band Crush Archived Article: Show Crush Recap: Pansy Division, The Fatal Flaw, The Motion Sick at TTs

[more Pansy Division photos here]Pansy Division lived up to my lofty expectations of an out and proud punk band. They cruised through songs that ranged from silly crass numbers about sex to issue-centered songs about how hurtful it is to hear lame stuff called “gay.” (I’m referencing the song “That’s so gay” off their new record of the same title.) Midway through the set the bass player disappeared and came back with a short sparkly dress on and then laughed at me from the stage for running over to get some money shots. They only have a few days left on this tour, so try and check them out if you can.

Final Dates of the tour:
Jun 25 2009 @ Velvet Lounge, Washington, DC
Jun 26 2009 @ Insubordination Fest, at Sonar, Baltimore, MD
Jun 27 2009 @ Mercury Lounge, New York City
Jun 28 2009 @ Public Assembly, Brooklyn, New York

Video from the show:

The Fatal Flaw brought the fun dancy indie-pop-rock which included songs about Axl Rose and had “Bruce Springsteen (1!2!3!) starts.”

[more photos here]The Fatal Flaw’s Joel Reader showed his versatility as a player when he switched from being band frontman/bass player to lead guitarist in Pansy Division.
The Fatal Flaw video:

The Motion Sick started up the night with their brand of intelligent indie rock, and treated us to a new song. Some art school girls decided that Mike was their mutual muse and drew him, the results are a pretty good likeness:

Abby Driscoll took a hilarious picture of me trying to ignore that Mike was off the stage and rocking out in front of me:
