Hello Friends,
Exciting things going on in The Motion Sick land:
—
Bodog, which is apparently a company that makes its money via gambling enterprises, also has a record label and has decided to find “America’s best indie band.” So, they set up a large-scale battle of the bands. It has been taking place in 15 cities. In Boston alone, something like 3-400 bands signed up. Well, now, the Boston competition is down to 12 acts. The Motion Sick won a round of online voting and then 2 live performance battles to make it this far. As a result, we’re playing in the city finals at The Roxy on December 10th. Additionally, the show itself is being filmed for a FUSE tv special on the Battle. They’ve also “threatened” to interview us and follow us around with cameras all the time as part of this special.
This is very exciting for us and we don’t want to look too stupid on TV. As you might know, The Roxy is HUGE! This means that we need to get a lot of people to come and support us and cheer for us and make us look good on TV (it adds ten pounds!).
It will be tough competition, but we do believe we have a shot at winning. If we do win the City Finals, we’re sent off to Los Angeles for the Nationwide Finals. The winner of that competition walks away with a “$1 million recording contract.”
So far, you can see the lineup info at:
You can purchase tickets directly from us for the low price of $10.

Don’t forget to vote for us in the semi-finals of WFNX’s Last Band Standing Competition to find Boston’s best band. You can vote for us once per e-mail address per day at:
A clever individual suggested that we also offer to send you a daily e-mail to remind you to vote each day. If you’d like to receive such an email daily (or close to daily) from now until the contest’s end (Dec. 1), please reply and let us know.
