I’m not sure what I can say about Houston that hasn’t already been said. I will say that the drive from Tulsa to Houston is VERY, VERY long… The scenery sucks and there aren’t many places to stop off the highway to get your legs under you for a few minutes. There was a cool statue of Sam Houston that we visited on the way to Dallas the next day.
Our actual gig at Boondocks was pretty much a disaster. Mike documented the experience accurately in his blog, so I won’t waste your time saying the same thing. I will however say that despite the bullshit, we fucking played an AMAZING show! It was probably one of the best of the whole tour. I had good stage sound (thanks sound dude), and we were all locked in pretty tight during the set. It was truly a rock n roll experience, despite the unfortunate turn of events at the end of the evening. I really hope the owner of the club realizes that we meant no harm. I also hope he realizes that there are a lot of bands out there who fuck a lot of shit up, so he should be prepared to deal with shit getting busted up, broken and or defaced. Unfortunately, some bands are just total dickheads and do shit on purpose to be assholes, we are not one of those bands. Music venues get fucked up, just look at 9 out of 10 clubs in Boston.
Anyway, Houston wasn’t as great as we would have liked it to be, but so be it. I wouldn’t mind going back, but only if we sign a contract that states I can throw my drum kit out a window. I’m kidding. Starman, I still have half of your guitar in my hardware bag, let me know if you want some super glue to go with the pieces…
