The album is partly inspired by frontman Brian Carpenter’s experience of living with his son during the time of diagnosis and treatment of autism. Carpenter further dedicates the album to his father and grandparents, whose lives as watermelon farmers in the rural Bible Belt inspired songs which share their titles with classic Southern Gothic literature.
The awesome album artwork was created by illustrator Carson Ellis, best known for her work with The Decemberists and children’s books such as The Mysterious Benedict Society.
The rest of the bill ain’t too shabby either: Reverend Glasseye (reunion show!), Mucca Pazza (from Chicago), Ketman (Boston Band Crush favorites), and Larkin Grimm
