More theatrical fake-blood rock than metal, but hey, Alice Cooper is a swell guy. My understanding is that the original deal was a band called the “Alice Cooper Band,” which eventually (d)evolved into just one dude with some backing music makers. He then adopted the name Alice Cooper for himself. That’s what I recall. Someone else can fact-check it for me. I also recall a similar game with Marilyn Manson. I believe that the fellow was originally known simply as “Mr. Manson,” but eventually adopted the name of the band as his own moniker. Now you’ve got two things to fact-check. Anyway, as with all metal, hard rock, and music in general…you can never get out unless you sell out!
