This article originally appeared on Boston Band Crush ). Day one of our WBCN Rumble coverage is here. We’ll be interviewing all 24 bands participating this year, and posting one interview each day leading up to April 5th (the first day of competition). We start off with Rumble enthusiast, Matt King from The Lights Out.
2009 Rumble Questions:
Are you excited to be participating in the 31st WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble?
We are VERY excited. The only thing we’d probably get more excited about would be first contact with an alien culture that consisted only ofstrippers with an intergalactic mission of bringing free beer to the universe.
Are you afraid of the Rumble curse?
The Lights Out know no fear.
Do you plan on doing anything special or different for your set?
How far do you think you’ll progress in the competition?
Who knows? But we are in it to win it.
What’s your bet on who will make it to the finals?
The Lights Out have learned not to bet on the outcome of the Rumble.
Are there any bands you would have picked for the line up this year that didn’t get in?
The Motion Sick. Those guys were totally robbed. Wait… what?
What band is your favorite past winner?
What past competitor do you think was most robbed?
We are going to go with Miss Pigeon.
Any final words or smacktalk before the battle begins?
With so many of our friends in this year’s Rumble, I can only speculate that this will be the most cordial bloodbath in Rumble history.
