Are you excited to be participating in the 31st WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble?
Of course… mostly because we like to play music, and any excuse to eat chicken cous cous for half off at ME UP prior to playing music is a welcomed invitation.
Are you afraid of the Rumble curse?
We’ve become friendly with curses over the years… they know a few of us by name and sometimes we go on picnics together. Sometimes those curses leave trash at the park and we pick up after them.
Do you plan on doing anything special or different for your set?
We may set up a record player on the middle of the stage, put a Madonna record on, light a cigarette, dance to said Madonna record, pull out a rusty flask, take a few slugs, and then walk off… oh wait – Ryan Adams did that already. Okay scratch that – maybe we’ll all wear our virgin whitest and Alex will where blood red from head to toe.
How far do you think you’ll progress in the competition?
About 2,580 seconds or the life of a dead star.
What’s your bet on who will make it to the finals?
We got our money on the J Geils band and our previously mentioned record player.
Are there any bands you would have picked for the lineup this year that didn’t get in?
We heard Gwar moved to Everett… Obviously that’s a huge oversight. Maybe they’ll get it right next year.
What band is your favorite past winner?
I’m a huge Til Tuesday fan so let’s say Til Tuesday with an honorable mention to my boys in C4RT.
What past competitors do you think was most robbed?
Placer and Brass Monkeys… of which some of us may or may not have been members of.
Any final words or smacktalk before the battle begins?
We only talk smack on Saturday mornings during our bowling league. Anything less would be uncivilized.
