Team Shred Productions Presents: Sir Q the Imposter, The New Collisions, The Lights Out, Forest Henderson
18+
Show starts at 9pm sharp
$9.00
This is a highly recommended show with a great all-around lineup. It should be a really fun and diverse night of local music.
Forest Henderson recently released their debut EP, which is a catchy blend of dance rock with strong melodies and grooves. My favorite track, “Damn the Dogs” reminds me of some of the recent wave of popular dancey indie acts like: Arctic Monkeys, Jet, and Franz Ferdinand.
The Lights Out are a power-pop band (with a howling stacked-amp emphasis on power). I’ve seen them many times and they always put on a great show.
The New Collisions are single-handedly reminding us why the new-wave era is one of our favorite musical times…and they aren’t just rehashing it, they’re reinventing it. With catchy songs, strong stage presence, great sound, they are a blast live and I’m really looking forward to the release of their debut album, currently in the works. They are definitely a band that will be making waves in 2009.
Finally, Sir Q the Imposter is new to me, but they sound a bit like a blend of sludgey 90s rockers like Faith No More and Jesus Lizard.
