Back in 2020, Sophia Cacciola wrote an essay about The Prisoner for the planned third volume of It Means What It Says, a collection of writing analyzing the series and its continuing influence. Six years later, it’s finally published and available to read!
Half a Dozen of the Other – It Means What It Says: Volume Three is the long-awaited final volume in the series, focusing on the final five episodes of The Prisoner and the lasting impact of the show.
For anyone who somehow doesn’t know, our band, Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling, was based around writing songs inspired by each of the 17 episodes of The Prisoner. We also made several Prisoner-inspired music videos, including the massive, multi-year undertaking of recreating the show’s iconic opening sequence shot-for-shot, directed by Theodore Cormey. TIME Magazine named it #6 (get it?!?!?) on its list of the Top 10 Creative Videos of 2011.
