End Zone 2: The Official Novelization

You can watch The Once and Future Smash and End Zone 2 on a variety of platforms. But did you know, you can also read End Zone 2?!?!?

🔪 Available on paperback and Kindle

Originally penned in 1969 by Jean Chiles Tempi, the novelization of End Zone 2 arises from a lost manuscript uncovered alongside the rare film’s original reels. Now published for the first time, it delivers a shock‑driven thriller set long before the horrific events finally unveiled on screen — complete with an explosive new ending (covering the story in the missing reel of End Zone 2).

In 1955, Jimmy Smazmoth was brutally beaten by the Donner High football team, leaving him unrecognizable. His mother, consumed by vengeance, went on a killing spree, only to be stopped by cheerleader Nancy. Now, 15 years later, Nancy seeks refuge from her haunting memories with a weekend retreat at an isolated cabin with her friends. But their peace is shattered when Jimmy, long presumed dead, returns as the monstrous Smash-Mouth, the terror from Nancy’s nightmares. Together with his sadistic companion AJ, Smash-Mouth unleashes a new wave of horror, pushing Nancy and her friends to the brink of insanity. Can Nancy conquer her darkest fears and survive the night, or will the relentless nightmares consume her once and for all?

Jean Chiles Tempi profile imageAbout the author

Jean Chiles Tempi grew up in a world of contradiction. Her mother, Penelope Chiles, is a renowned mime, while her father, a championship yodeler, could shatter glass with his Alpine ululations.

Jean attended Yale University, where she majored in Comparative Literature. Her academic pursuits were heavily influenced by Gothic fiction and real supernatural, much to the chagrin of her conventional professors. She now resides in a creaky old house in Salem, Massachusetts, where she casts spells in pantomime.

When not writing, Jean has taken up crafting faux fur by trapping faux minks, a skill that has made her quite popular among eco-conscious fashionistas. Though she has never married, her relationship status is officially listed as “does as she pleases” on all county documentation.

Jean wrote End Zone 2 in one whirlwind weekend, fueled by an endless pot of black coffee and a slightly alarming number of candied ginger snacks.
