Spawned from a Black Crowes Cover-Up at The Lizard Lounge of the summer, the star-studded BrownBoot is throwing a party at The Rosebud (381 Summer St, Davis Square, Somerville, MA; directly behind the Rosebud Diner Car) to help you shake off your turkey(OR tofurkey)-induced comas.
BrownBoot features dueling vocals from Rod Van Stoli (Bang Camaro) and Jordan Valentine (The Sunday Saints), with James Vincent (Damn Personals) on bass, Matt Sullivan (Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra) on guitar and Wes Narron, Jr. (Noble Rot) on drums. With the bar bill of Keith Richards and the backbeat of rhythm and blues, they promise a raucous, high-energy, what-the-hell-was-that! cover set that runs from Jeff Beck to Funkadelic and back again. They’ll also be premiering some brand new original songs, as well as reprising their Halloween tribute to The Faces and early Rod Stewart.
They’ve offered up two live MP3s -from their Faces tribute- to check out: Too Bad & Stay With Me
Saturday, 11/28, 9pm, $5, 21+. DJ Jordan Valentine will spin garage, soul, and rock n’ roll before and between.
