I am taking an astronomy course this semester, and our first assignment was to wake up at dawn and observe the shadows cast on the moon by the sun, by the proxy of a ball. My ball was this organic orange. I drove Mike crazy all weekend, because we kept getting up at the wrong time for the observation, and I demanded that he accompany me. In the end though I got the info I needed. Big surprise!* The sun cast the same shadow on the orange as it does on the moon! The moon is that white speck above the orange.
*It was not actually a big surprise, as we hypothesized this was going to happen…
