We got to make something a little more substantial than our usual Blu-ray bonus interview for Ned Crowley’s Middle Man: That Joke Goes Too Far: Inside Middle Man, a feature-length documentary for Antenna Releasing’s new Blu-ray.
Sophia Cacciola, Jeremy Long, and Michael J. Epstein made the documentary, which features new interviews with writer/director Ned Crowley and cast and crew including Jim O’Heir, Anne Dudek, Andrew J. West, Josh McDermitt, Bill Fortney, and Dick Buckley.
We really dig this movie. Middle Man follows Lenny Freeman (Jim O’Heir), a painfully unfunny aspiring stand-up comic who hits the road for Las Vegas, picks up a mysterious hitchhiker, and discovers that an escalating trail of murder is having one deeply inconvenient upside: his act is finally getting better.
The Antenna release is the film’s first-ever disc release, and it is also Antenna Releasing’s first home-video release. The Blu-ray is currently scheduled for December 29, 2026.
