Our theme for the show will be HOCKEY!
The Encyclopedia Show Somerville is an event franchised from the original series founded in Chicago in 2008, wherein invited artists from a variety of performance disciplines present all-new, original works on sub-topics of a single theme. A recurring cast of hosts and characters welcomes the artists with open arms and minds, while the resident Fact Checker is charged with maintaining the integrity of the Encyclopedic Truth of the show.
In addition, we are pleased to welcome a monthly selection of artists to the Show. January’s list of artists is still in progress, but will definitively include:
* MARLON INPHYNIT CAREY, Providence, R.I.’s favorite hip-hop artist, thespian, and not-so-secret nerd, educating us on PLAYOFF BEARDS;
* CHRISTOPHER CLAUSS, Manchester, N.H. performance poet, with biographical information about HAYLEY WICKENHEISER;
* HANIF ABDURRAQIB, visiting poet and honest-to-god sports fan from the Columbus, Ohio scene, elucidating upon POND HOCKEY;
* WES HAZARD, Boston-based comic and Questionable Expert with a little Bruins history including ANSON CARTER;
* MEGHAN CHIAMPA, local surreal poetry artist and rabid fan of J. BOB “BATTLESHIP” KELLY;
* MEAGHAN FORD, Jersey girl, hockey fan, and local poetry star who will never forget THE 1919 STANLEY CUP;
* And TEACHER MEG, Educational Consultant and third in this month’s hat trick of Megs.
The MICHAEL J. EPSTEIN MIRACLES ON ICE will be in full force this month to provide musical stylings and an original piece about everyone’s favorite indoor sport, TONSIL HOCKEY.
