A year at RADIO (club) – celebration Saturday 10/13/12

boston phoenix covers the event!

Radio (Bar Union) opened it’s doors in Union Sq. Somerville one year ago and was immediately irreplaceable – from the awesome Rocky and Hannibal paintings on the red brick walls to the Golden Smash to the grandfather clock – it feels like home. Most of all, the heart of the place is in the awesome people that work there – ever-welcoming, smiling, and always ready to leap in and help.

Tomorrow, 10/13 is an all day party celebrating their very first birthday with an all-star line-up!

Boston Bloghead did a podcast with music from the bands!

As a fan and employee of Sophia’s Rock Beat, despite opening in October, the venue managed to be my 3rd most visited of the year (stats aren’t in for 2012 yet, but I imagine it will be high up there again!)

Darling Pet Munkee has played there a whole bunch – including our CD Release and again in July and August. Aimee even let us shoot our music video for X-Ray Specs in the club! and we took our first set of press photos there.

The Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library played two awesome shows at Radio – one with Rick Berlin and Walter Sickert & the ARmy of BRoken TOys celebrating Edrie’s birthday and once with Sarah RabDAU and Self-Employed Assassins, The Zamboni’s and J. Krafty.

We’re very excited to play again on Saturday and look forward to many, many more years of awesome times at RADIO!
