Parlour Bells “Airwaves” featuring MJE and SC as part of choir – mini-documentary about the recording and the loss of WFNX from the radio dial

Parlour Bells just finished their new single “Airwaves” – a song inspired by the demise of WFNX and WBCN. The song explores just how significant a loss those stations are to the Boston music community. it also features a chorus of Boston rockers including Michael J. Epstein and Sophia Cacciola. They also put together this mini-documentary about the recording of the song and about how the loss of the stations has affected the Boston community. A special thanks to Glenn for including a wonderfully embarrassing photo of me from when I was 13.

Parlour Bells is also performing at the WFNX We Want the Airwaves Tribute!

This is not the first time we’ve had the pleasure of working with Glenn di Benedetto and other members of Parlour Bells. Glenn performed a duet with Sophia on the Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling cover of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” which was played during the daytime on WFNX by DJ Adam 12 – a precise example of how much WFNX was able to pull from local music and include it in spots in regular programming. This is extremely unusual for a commercial radio station and very valued within the Boston music community. We are still quite lucky to have local rock shows on WZLX and WAAF and a slew of great non-commercial radio shows devoted to local music (On the Town with Mikey Dee, Mass Ave and Beyond, Pipeline!, The Dweezil Show, several shows on WMWM, and more)

I also had the pleasure of doing a remix of Parlour Bells’ “Heavy Dream” for their remix project.

Glenn also directed, edited, and did just about everything imaginable for Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling’s “First We Take Manhattan” music video.
